Sensex falls slightly, Nifty remains below 10,850

On Thursday, the Sensex fell marginally on the major indices of the market, while the Nifty closed flat.


During the trading, the Nifty had reached above 10,900, but later it lost all the gains. Today, there were good purchases in metals, vehicles, infra, oil-gas, pharma and energy stocks. Experts believe that investors are worried about weak September quarter results.

The BSE SENSEX (BSE SENSEX) opened at 36,821.71 this morning, up from the previous closing level of 36,724.74 points. The Sensex climbed to an all-time high of 36,898.99 during the session and finally closed at 36,644.42, down by 80.32 points or 0.22%. The NSE Nifty of NSE closed at 10,847.90, up 3.25 points, or 0.03%, from a previous closing level of 10,844.65, at 10,860.95. Today the Nifty upper level remained at 10,920.10.

Out of the 50 major Nifty stocks, only 34 stocks gained strength and 16 stocks weakened. At the same time, out of the 31 major stocks of BSE, 19 stocks registered an increase and 12 stocks declined.

Among today's heavyweights, Tata Motors gained 7.81%, ONGC 5.17%, Yes Bank 4.12%, NTPC 3.26%, Maruti Suzuki 2.41% and Mahindra & Mahindra 2.23%. Among the falling stocks, HDFC 2.67%, ICICI Bank 2.16%, TCS 1.35%, HCL Tech 1.26%, Kotak Mahindra Bank 1.23% and Asian Paints 1.07%.

Today, out of the total shares of BSE, 1,451 shares weakened compared to 989 shares, while 145 stocks remained flat.

Small-medium indices have a better position than major indices. BSE Midcap (0.15% in BSE Midcap) and 0.72% in BSE SmallCap was recorded strong. On the other hand, the Nifty Midcap 100 was up 0.30% and the Nifty Small 100 (Nifty Small 100) saw an increase of 0.80%.
